Raymond "Poncho" Lewis  Darling
Raymond “Poncho” Lewis Darling, age 80, of Greenup, IL formerly of Decatur, IL passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born June 25, 1935 in Union Center, IL, the son of Norris “Doc” Herschel Darling and Mildred Neoma Kuhn Darling. On November 30, 1957 he married Ada Inez Creasy in Colchester, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Ada Darling of Greenup, IL; children, Rick (Mindy) Darling of Topeka, KS; Jamie (Renita) Darling of Corinth, TX; Kathie (Dave) Goodwin of Granite City, IL; Christopher (Dayna) Darling of Alpharetta, GA; Lana (Edward) Clift of Salem, IN; Lisa (Larry) Lindow of Lakeland, FL; Lori (Rocky) Mason of Nampa, ID; daughter in law, Paula Darling of Galesburg, IL; 23 grandchildren, Erin and Mike Darling; Jennifer Perez, Jordan Darling, Brandi Smith, Amanda Stewart, Jacob, Zachary, Aaron and Adam Darling; Elise, Lexi and Laci Clift; Alexis, Aubree, Ashton, Lilly, Hanan, Logan and Landon Lindow; Seth, Sara and Simon Mason; 11 great grandchildren, Ethan and Jackson Gehlhausen; Owen Murphy; Augustus and Sloan Stewart; Aidan, Brooks, Jacob, Carson, Roman and Annistyn Darling and mother, Mildred Paul of Casey, IL. He was preceded in death by his father.

Ray was retired after 45 years of service as a field superintendent over high line construction for L.E. Myers Company. He was a 60 year member of the IBEW Local 51 Union. Ray was a member of the Casey First Baptist Church. His greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren, his work and his farm.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Casey First Baptist Church with Rev. Jon McDonald, Rev. Tom Marsh and Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, rural Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the Casey First Baptist Church, 101 E. Alabama St., Casey, IL.
