Sycamore Neighborhood

Jewell is the last of the folks from the old neighborhood around the Sycamore School, well maybe Lowell will hold down the fort for a while longer.  When I was a kid, I loved to go down to Glen & Jewell's and play with the Kibler kids. Jewell always had a kind word.  In those days there were all kinds of people living on the couple of square miles starting at the 6 mile curve going East and South..  Most of the places have disappeared with hardly a trace.  There were at least a dozen families on or very near that square mile, some more friendly that others, but they were good neighbors.  That way of life as passed.  I feel blessed that I was raised there and experienced a very good way of life.  Rest in peace, Jewell and say hi to Mom when you see her.
