David Wayne Owen, age 57, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:51 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born May 12, 1959 in Effingham, IL, the son of Dale Allyn Owen and Patricia Joan Dillier Owen.

David is survived by his son, Michael W. (Mike) Owen of Casey, IL; grandson, James Michael Johnson; twin granddaughters, Marcella and Sierra Davis; sisters, Teresa and Trina; many uncles, aunts, cousins, classmates and wonderful caring friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Owen.

David was a 1977 graduate of Casey High School. He had previously worked for Murphy Trucking for over 28 years, Chris Miller and KZ Equipment. He took great pride in his work and was very meticulous. David enjoyed fishing, mowing and especially mushroom hunting. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
