Leonard Herbert Robey, 88, of Greenup, IL passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born December 30, 1926 in Casey, IL, the son of Oval Robey and Martha Sally Ann Carver Robey. On July 2, 1945 he married Wanda June Collins in Clark County, IL.
Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Wanda Robey of Casey, IL; son, Michael Leonard Robey of Utah; daughters, Connie Jean Sullivan of Greenup, IL and Mary Ann Funk and husband Harold of Casey, IL; brother, Dale Robey of Pana, IL; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Robey and son in law, Rodney Sullivan.
Leonard was a 1945 graduate of Casey High School and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a retired farmer. Leonard was quite the outdoorsman. He loved hunting, gardening, and riding horses. Leonard raised Beagle hounds competitively and enjoyed the farm life. He was a loving father and grandfather and a devout Christian.
At his request cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
