Juanita Lorene Applegate, 84, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:58 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL with her family by her side. She was born August 10, 1931 in Casey, IL the daughter of Luther Michael Ring and Norma Belle Hires Ring. On October 11, 1952 she married Robert Don Applegate in Casey, IL. He passed away on December 26, 1978.
Survivors include her sons, Scott (Mary) Applegate of Casey, IL, Tim (Josy) Applegate of Pawnee, IL and Rodney (Denise) Applegate of Sparks, NV; brother, Larry Michael (Bobbie) Ring of Westfield, IL; granddaughters, Meghan Applegate, Elizabeth Applegate and Taylor Applegate and great granddaughter, Savanah Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Todd Applegate; brothers, Lester Ring, Jack Ring and Harvey Ring; sisters, Myrtle Harris, Maureen Tutewiler and Minta Pence.
Juanita was a Casey High School graduate. She worked for the Casey Shoe Factory for many years and then later for the Casey Answering Service. Juanita was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God and the Casey VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Lakins officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
