Yvonne Marie Talbott, 93, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:53 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. She was born October 6, 1921 in Marly, France, the daughter of Camille Joseph Bricout and Marie Louise Marchant Bricout. On June 22, 1946 she married William Campbell Talbott in Créteil, France. He passed away on January 22, 1989.
Surviving is a son, Richard Talbott of Casey, IL; daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Bence of Charleston, IL; daughter in law, Marilyn Talbott of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Dawn (David) Hall of Westville, IL, Angela (Bob) Zellers of Casey, IL, Jacob (Jenni) Talbott of Ames, IA, Cory (Dawn) Listner of Midland, TX, Colin (Jessica) Listner of Collinsville, IL, Tara (Dale) Golladay of Charleston, IL and Sarah Bence of Charleston, IL; twenty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Mary Louise Listner.
Yvonne’s life started in France, lived through the experience of WWII being fought in her own country, met an American soldier, fell in love and was married in a beautiful cathedral in Créteil, France. Their first child Richard was born in Paris, France, they then moved to Kentucky and along came their second child Mary. When they moved to Casey, IL in 1954 Yvonne was expecting their third child Kathy.
Education was very important to Yvonne; she graduated from Eastern Illinois University and Indiana State University ultimately receiving her Master’s degree. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Casey where she worked as a volunteer. She was a former Cub Scout and Brownie leader and was a former FISH organization volunteer. Yvonne was a member of the Casey VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had adored cats since she was a small child and has always had cats as pets.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Jan Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
