Mary Ann Zachary, 86, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born June 1, 1929 in Marshall, IL, the daughter of Walter E. Scott, Sr. and Ruby Mallory Scott. On July 20, 1946 she married Edwin Clair Zachary in East St. Louis, IL. He passed away on December 20, 2009.
Surviving are three sons, Michael (Patricia Lowry) Zachary, Martinsville, IL; Steve (Anita Rister) Zachary, Lawrenceville, IL; Scott (Mary Katherine Smitley) Zachary, Martinsville, IL; two sisters, Phyllis (Gene) Ward of Champaign, IL; Florence Wilson of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Gerald Scott of Black Hawk, IN; Walter (Betty) Scott, Jr. of Casey, IL; Warren (Sharon) Scott of Martinsville, IL; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Chet Scott and Everett Scott and an infant sister.
Mrs. Zachary was always ready to visit with family and friends over a cup of coffee. She had a witty sense of humor in which everyone enjoyed. One of her favorite things to do was quilting. She was a homemaker and member of the Island Grove Baptist Church of rural Martinsville, IL.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday morning prior to the service at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
