Mary Maxine Weir, 88, of Casey, IL passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born May 24, 1926 in Clark County, Illinois, the daughter of Vess Bennett and Carrie Agnes O’Dell Bennett. On October 4, 1944 she married Paul Harold Weir in Casey, IL; he passed away on November 4, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Hendrix and husband Tom of Casey IL; Marlene Shoot of Westfield, IL; Nancy Duniphan and husband Max of Casey IL; son, Randy Weir and wife Kelly of Westfield, IL; sister, Rosalee Roan of Casey, IL; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, three step great grandchildren, one step great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Denzil Bennett and sister, Hazel Fain.
Mrs. Weir was a homemaker and had previously worked at Davis Laundry, Casey Shoe Factory and Newman’s Apple Orchard. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Casey, IL. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, gardening, horse shows and attending horse races at the fair. She especially enjoyed her time she spent at the sporting activities her grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in.
A graveside service and burial will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating.
