Vera Leoan Pogue, 84, of Casey, IL passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born January 9, 1930 in Casey, IL the daughter of Harley Samuel Orrell and Opal Groves Orrell. On December 9, 1950 she married Kenneth Eugene Pogue in Casey, IL. He passed away on October 11, 1985.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Pogue of Casey, IL and Linda (Myras) Osman of Flossmoor, IL; sons, Dirk Pogue of Casey, IL; Jim (Paula) Pogue of Charleston, IL and John (Karen) Pogue of Puyallup, WA and grandson, John K. Pogue of Charleston, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Victor P. Orrell and sisters, Betty Hutchings and Mary Shiels.
Mrs. Pogue retired as an Assistant Cashier for the Casey National Bank after 35 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
