Connie Joan (Trout) Zarka Nevling, 68, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at her home. She was born August 14, 1946 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Joseph Aulden Trout and Zelta Ilene Estes Trout.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Derek Zarka and wife Amanda of Casey, IL; daughter, Jessica Dawn Lloyd of Gainesville, FL; sister, Billie Patterson and husband Russell of Martinsville, IL; brother, Steve Trout and wife Debra of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Trey Zarka and Devin Zarka of Casey, IL; many nieces and nephews and good friends, Treva Miller of Marshall, IL and Juanita Remlinger of Casey, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Connie was a 1964 graduate of Casey High School. She joined the US Airforce after high school and served returning soldiers as a medic at Sheppard Airforce Base, Wichita Falls, TX. She later worked as a CNA at a Veterans Home in Paxton, IL, Birchwood Nursing Home in Casey, as a cashier for Goben’s Stop & Shop in Casey and a salesperson for WKZI Radio in Casey, IL. Connie was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Casey and later became a member of the Casey Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Casey, IL.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420.
