Florence Pearl Fitch, 98, of Hazel Dell, IL passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Simple Blessings in Casey, IL. She was born October 12, 1915 at the home place south of Hidalgo, IL the daughter of Ira Kibler and Lula Groves Kibler. On December 7, 1935 she married Clyde Fitch in Urbana, IL. He passed away on November 18, 1985.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Odle of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Kevin Scott Black of Casey, IL; Matthew Odle of St. Charles, IL; Mark Odle and wife Cindy of West Chicago, IL and Marshal Odle of St. Charles, IL great grandchildren, Kelsea McKiness and Chase Andrew Odle; great great grandson, Jayce Jacob McKiness and many friends and neighbors in the Hazel Dell area. She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, Lois Black; brothers, Glen Kibler and Earl Kibler and sisters, Iva (Griffith) Huss, Inez (Roy) Hubbard, Ethel James and granddaughter, Melinda Odle.
Florence was a member of the Hazel Dell Church of God where she attended for over fifty years. She was a member of the Hazel Dell Homemakers Club. Florence was a full time farm wife. She worked her entire life on the farm with her husband, maintaining her home, her yard, her garden and raising her family. In later years she and her husband enjoyed winters in FL. Florence always took time to visit with family and friends, which she truly enjoyed.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Emrich officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery, Hazel Dell, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 Central Ave,, Casey, IL.
