Leota “Fay” Odell, 97, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born on May 18, 1916 in Cumberland County, IL, the daughter of William Francis Comer and Jessie Odella Easton Comer. On October 7, 1939, she married Allen Thomas Odell in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on April 18, 1996.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Kunz and husband John of Centennial, CO, Marjorie Allen and husband Ed of Casey, IL, Dianna Hickox and husband Lowell of Casey, IL, and Deborah Grissom and husband Michael of Arlington, TN; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, brother, Robert H. Comer; half-brothers, Edgar Easton, Roy Comer and Arthur Comer; and sisters, Eunice Laymon, Lenora Laymon, Elsie Miller, Clara Ramsey, Dorothy Taggart, Mary Comer, Lula Comer and Edith Cox.
Mrs. Odell was a member of the Casey Church of Christ and a lifelong Casey resident. She had worked at the Casey Shoe Factory and was also a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home Bro. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
