Obituary for Richard "Dick" Buckler England

Richard "Dick" Buckler  England
Richard “Dick” Buckler England, 88, of Casey, IL passed away Thursday morning on July 25, 2013 at his home in Casey, IL. He was born October 15, 1924 in Kansas, IL, the son of Harlan England and Inez Buckler England. On May 20, 1945, he married Barbara Jean Glick; she passed away on March 1, 1959. On May 26, 1961, he married Sue Ella Edwards in Kansas, IL. She passed away on October 19, 2007.
Survivors include his sons, Terry England and wife Sharon of Westfield, IN and Dan England and wife Lois of Charleston, IL; daughter, Kandy Newlin and husband Dan of Mont Belvieu, TX; sister in law, Helen England of Sparta, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy England and wife Amy; Teri Lynn Tingley husband Michael; Robert Tingley; Andrea England and fiancé Steve Smith; Matthew England and friend Tiffany Hoshaw; Jessica Beaumont and her family and Ryan Newlin and his family and one great grandson, Aidan England. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives and brother, Bill England.
Mr. England worked as an electrician for TRW in Marshall, IL. He was a handyman, bus driver and provided building maintenance for the Kansas School District for ten years. Dick was a US Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and taught Sunday school. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a lifetime member of the Kansas American Legion. Dick was an avid music lover and especially enjoyed jazz. He loved to play the drums and played in many musical groups over the years. Dick was an amateur Ham radio operator, K9HQF. He served on the Casey Library board for sixteen years and was involved in the Casey Community Theater and the Puppet Ministry. Dick was the recipient of the City of Casey 2005 Citizen of the Year award.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Casey United Methodist Church, Casey, IL with Dr. Penelope Barber and Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial and committal will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 in the Fairview Cemetery, Kansas, IL with graveside military rites by the Kansas American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
