Jeffrey Lynn Poindexter, 65, of Henderson, KY, formerly of Casey, IL, passed away at 6:07 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital, Henderson, KY. He was born on February 14, 1948 in Robinson, IL, the son of Charles L. Poindexter and Wilma Jean Whitehead Poindexter.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Poindexter of Noblesville, IN; sons, John Poindexter and Jarred Poindexter; sisters, Vicki Keller of Louisville, IL and Jill Hanners of Casey, IL; brothers, Bill Poindexter of Carrollton, MO and Charles A. Poindexter of Independence, MO; honorary son, Derek Shenski of Henderson, KY and honorary granddaughter, Haven Shenski of Henderson, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jeff served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from security where he was a night watchman on thoroughbred race horse farms in Kentucky, Arkansas and Delaware.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with Rev. Rick Catt officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion.
