Patricia “Patty” Price, 72, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 10, 1939 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of J. I. Baird and Edna Melcina Snyder Baird. On July 5, 1959, she married Donald E. Price in Martinsville, IL. He passed away on October 17, 1995.


Survivors include her sons, Steven Ray Price and wife Krista of Marshall, IL and Scott Allen Price and wife Kara of Martinsville, IL; four grandchildren, Evan, Mallory, Kambry and Landry Price; her brothers and sisters, Carolyn (Dale) Miller, Don (Bonnie) Baird, Joe (Toni) Baird, Peggy (Dave) Snyder, Lynn (Tim) Denham, all of Martinsville, Dean (Judy) Baird of Anderson, IN, John (Pat) Baird, Charles (Liz) Baird of New Cumberland, WV, Bill (Laurie) Baird of Caseyville, IL and 24 nephews and nieces, 34 grand nephews and nieces and 7 great grand nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death were her parents, J. I. and Edna Baird, her husband, Don Price, two brothers, Dale and Jim Baird and nephew, Billy Baird.


Patty worked at the local telephone office, was a waitress at the Highway Café Restaurant and was a cashier at the Bennett’s Town and Country. She was a member of a Bunco Club with many of her classmates and an avid bingo and card player. She was a gracious host of many Sunday dinners, birthday parties and family gatherings. She leaves behind many good and faithful friends.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Baird Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
