James “Ed” Francis, 79, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born February 2, 1933 in Moonshine, IL, the son of James Albert Francis and Minnie Johnson Francis. On June 1, 1952, he married Lois Arlene Bounds in Melrose, IL. She passed away on October 11, 2010.

Survivors include son, Ed Francis and wife Paula of Yale, IL; son, Paul Francis of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Donna Brown and husband Doit of Boonville, IN; grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley and Austin Francis; Amanda and Kyle Brown; great grandchildren, Blaykli and Brenly Francis; sisters, Wilma Roberts of Marshall, IL and Karen Wyrick and husband Dean of Marshall, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Randall Francis and infant sister, Norma Jean Francis.

Ed was owner, mechanic and auto body repairman at Ed’s Paint and Repair in Yale and Casey, IL for many years. He was a Korean War Marine veteran, member of Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Rev. Ivan Bennett officiating, followed by military rites by the Martinsville American Legion at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Dugan Cemetery, Crawford County, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
