Obituary for Perry Eugene Paxson

Perry Eugene Paxson, 85, of Westfield, IL passed away at 3:36 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. He was born April 18, 1926 in El Dorado, KS, the son of Leland Eli Paxson and Letha Pearl Pettyjohn Paxson. On June 21, 1945 he married Lota Nadean Hutchcraft in St. Elmo, IL. She passed away on January 31, 2009.

Survivors include son, Bruce Duane Paxson and wife Nancy of Springfield, MO; daughter, Vickie Jo Morgan of Grandview, IL; son, Jerry Dean Paxson of Martinsville, IL; sister in law, Ann Paxson of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Don Paxson and Ray Paxson and one sister in law.

Perry was retired after many years of being a self employed iron worker and oilfield drilling operator. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Markwell Chapel, Westfield, IL with Rev. Randy Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL with graveside military rites by the Kansas American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the Markwell Chapel, Westfield, IL.
