Bob was always such a good friend to me and to my family. There were a couple of occasions where we had our little differences and I got such pleasure out of teasing him until his face turned bright red, but even then I loved him as a friend and will continue to do so until the end of my days. I loved him for the kindnesses he showed to all of us, to Willie especially. How many men would dress like a twin in matching pullover basketball shorts and shirts as Bob did with Willie when Willie could no longer handle fastening blue jeans or pants or buttoning shirts? He was always so tender-hearted and gave of himself to others. He loved being grandpa to little Eric and later on to Rylee and Reece. He spent time talking with them, swinging them, listening to them, making them realize that they were all important. He always had time for a child or to hear the troubles of a friend. During the years that I knew Bob, I was amazed at how hard he tried to open his mind and heart to people who behaved or believed differently. His emotional and spiritual growth.........well, we could all take a lesson from Bob's willingness to listen, learn and embrace others particularly when others were having difficult times. And what a wonderful son-in-law! Bob was an absolute angel to Mabel. Most of all, I treasure Bob for loving my beautiful friend Connie so much. I always knew that she was safe and nurtured and truly cherished with Bob as her husband. We had wonderful times together, all of us. We have been fortunate to have had Bob in our lives.

It has been almost a year since God called you home. I miss you so much Bobby. My life is so different without you. I didn't realize how lonely life could be without you. Thank you for being a wonderful, loving husband. There will never be anyone that will love me as much as you did. We made our mistakes but in the end...I know we both loved each other. I close my eyes and I hold you in my arms and whisper....I will love you always.
Connie

Pawpaw, you meant the world to me. You were there for me anytime I needed you, or even when I didn't. That was the kind of person you were. You were such a huge part of my life, as I was to yours. Its hard to realize that I'm not going to be able to call or see you whenever I need to. I will hold on to all the memories we shared together. Who else is going to let me put pink rollers in their hair, drive their golf cart off the road or let me do all those little things mom wouldnt?
"Pawpaw.... you're beautiful"
- You're grandaughter, Rylee
