Deborah Sue (Decker) Vernon, age 65, of Casey, IL passed away at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL after a long battle with cancer. She was born May 16, 1952 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Billy Gene Decker and Roberta Mae Kuhn Decker. On November 25, 2004 she married Carl M. Vernon in Three Rivers, MI.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Vernon of Casey, IL; sons, Michael Allen (Charity) Collins of Ft. Knox, KY; Anthony Lee (Jamie) Collins of Casey, IL; Russell (Tracy) Vernon of Casey, IL and Rick (Dawn) Vernon of Stillman Valley, IL; parents, Gene and Roberta Decker of Casey, IL; brother, William Stephen Decker of Charleston, IL; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Allen Decker.
Debbie was a 1970 graduate of Casey High School. She was a retired cashier from Speedway in Casey, IL after 26 years and later worked at Heartland Manor in Casey, IL. Debbie was a faithful member of the Casey First Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Casey First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Allen Ebbler and Pastor Ruth Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Vernon Addition Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Casey First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 US 40, Casey, IL.
