Obituary for Wanda (Wolfe) Comer Schiver

Wanda (Wolfe) Comer   Schiver
Wanda (Wolfe) Comer Schiver, age 84, of Patoka, IL formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Centralia Manor, Centralia, IL. She was born August 29, 1932 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Robert Paul Wolfe and Dorothy Irene Robinson Wolfe. On February 27, 1949 she married Harold “John” Leonard Comer in Casey, IL; he passed away on November 22, 1970. She later married Franklin Eugene Schiver on April 7, 1972 in Casey, IL. He passed away on October 4, 2008.

Survivors include daughter, Norma (Joe) McNicol of Patoka, IL; daughter, Donna Comer of Centralia, IL; son, Randy (Carol) Comer of Kinmundy, IL; sister, Rogene Wolfe of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Ashlie (Ramon) Mitchell, Bruce (Jennifer) Waggoner and Bill (Jamie) Waggoner and great granddaughters, Bella and Mia Waggoner. Her parents, husbands, brother, Charles Leon Wolfe and sister, Roberta Sandiford preceded her in death.

Wanda was retired from the Casey School District as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Patoka First Baptist Church, a former member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Casey VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Patoka American Legion Auxiliary. Wanda was a devoted mom, grandma and Grandma Great. She loved to watch her St. Louis Cardinals and was known for her delicious pies, especially coconut cream.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Oakley and Rev. David Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery north of Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
