Patricia Ann “Patty” Wells, age 70, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 5, 1946 in Wood River, IL, the daughter of Wayne Udell Toner and Pearl Lunoris Wells Toner.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Alier of Martinsville, IL; Janet Gross of Martinsville, IL and Karla (Wayne) Martino of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Gary (Kimberly) Gross of Paris, IL; Sean Patrick Gross of Casey, IL; James Michael Gross of Martinsville, IL; Brandon Wayne Martino of Martinsville, IL; Chelsea Nicole Martino and fiancé John Beaty of Martinsville, IL; Cassandra Gail Martino and fiancé Kyle Spurgeon of Martinsville, IL; step grandchildren, Steven Wayne Alier II and fiancé Ashley Deibert of Highland, IL and James Alier of Chester, IL; great grandchildren, Marcus W. Beaty, Raiden H. Beaty, Ryker K. Gross, Reilly Alier, Katie and Brody Wood, Michael, Lilo and Patrick Gross, Zoey and Zerie Harkins and Jazimine Kinnaman. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, William Frederick Toner, James Edward Toner, Nancy Rogene Tingley, Thomas Wayne Toner and infant Mary Jeanette Toner and son in law, Steve Alier.
Patty attended Martinsville High School and Martinsville Wesleyan Church for many years. She enjoyed fishing and an occasional motorcycle ride with her grandson and son in law. Patty was the “go to” person in the family, always willing to help and babysit the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Toner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held form 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington Street, Martinsville, IL.
