Eleanor Mae Mumford, age 96, passed away at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, IL with her family at her side. She was born November 30, 1920 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Charles Allen and Goldie Ann Swimm Funk. She was married October 12, 1940 in Henderson, KY to Pearl E. Mumford. He preceded her in death November 23, 1992.
Eleanor was a 63-year member of the Casey First Christian Church. She was employed at Ettelbrick Shoe Co, McQuay Norris American Automotive and the KZ Restaurant. She enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch, the beach, cooking and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include daughters, Mitzi and husband, Chuck Williams, of Greeneville, TN and Cheryl Hickox of Mattoon, IL; son, Frank (Alan) Mumford of Fullerton, CA; grandchildren, Brian Hickox of Evergreen, CO, Michelle Sharp of Mattoon, IL, Travis Hickox of Algonquin, IL, Carrie Williams of Dallas, GA; Zane Mumford of San Diego, CA, and Amanda Mumford of Las Vegas, NV and great-grandchildren, Spencer, Will and Madelyn Sharp of Mattoon, Taylor Hickox of Evergreen, CO, Kaitlin Williams of Dallas, GA, Lincoln, Ryder and Everett Hickox of Algonquin, IL; special niece, Rose Mary Galvin of Houston, Tex.; and other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE 8th St., Casey, IL.
