Bernice Brandenburg Wilson, age 83, of Casey, IL passed away at 3:48 am on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born March 15, 1934 in Oilfield, IL the daughter of Pearl Brandenburg and Ruby Pauline Volk Brandenburg. On September 19, 1964 she married Hugh Lewis “H” Wilson in Marshall, IL. He passed away on August 11, 2005.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Wayne) Martin of Frankfort, IN and Robin Baker of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Amy (Shawn) McKinney, Caleb (Sigrid) Martin, Amber (Michael Wayne) Brandenburg and Milissa Baker; great grandchildren, Megan Owens, Madison and Matthew McKinney, Saidee and Levi Brandenburg, Shaden Porter, Zoen Stout and Rylan Martin and her pet dog, Zoie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; infant daughter, Bonnie Jo Wilson; stepmother, Hazel Elliott Brandenburg; brother, Jerry Lee (Cindy) Brandenburg; sister, Marcella (Herb) Hamilton and an infant brother.
Bernice was a 1953 graduate of Casey High School. She was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God. Bernice was retired after working as a custodian for the Casey Westfield School District for over 17 years and Heartland Nursing Center for over 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and attending activities her grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed her morning coffee at McDonald’s with her friends while catching up on the latest news around town.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Pastors Tom Marsh and Wayne Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm prior the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
