Nurturing mentor.
One of my favorite teachers....most of my great class memories came from her classes. Botany Zoology, Anatomy Physiology, Chemistry 1 and 2, and Physics. Her classes inspired my love for most things that are a part of my life now. Animals, plants, insects, the human body (muscles, joints). Her stories and her challenging expectations.
She was one of the few that pushed me to rise to the occasion and get my work done and do it well. Insect collection, leaf collection, flower collection, diagrams for everything. Her class was identical to my college classes in Chemistry and A&P;.
So many projects we needed to work our butt off on budgeting our time. Great lessons and memories.
Her projects actually cultivated many of my life long friendships. Going collecting with friends on the weekends. Cramming for tests on weeknights and other people's houses.
She knew there was so much more to her class assignments than just the assignment.
Beyond all of this she had a special connection with so many people. Even my Uncle Jim Voris was a student teacher for her and she loved to tell the story of how much he was in love with her and how upset he was to be done with his student teaching.
Loved seeing her when we visited Casey.
She will be missed!
