Thomas Russell Draper, age 70, of Cedar Park, TX formerly of the Martinsville, IL area passed away at 5:40 am on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, Cedar Park, TX. He was born September 7, 1946 in Charleston, IL the son of Robert Russell Draper and Phyllis Maxine Pankey Draper.

Survivors include son, Thomas Robert (Theresa) Draper of Mason, IL; daughter, May Jolene Draper of Hymera, IN; sisters, Phyllis Ann (Terry) Craig of Cedar Park, TX; Lauretta Sue Wilson of Gardner, IL and Juanita (Rick) Fisher of Marshall IL; brother, Donald (Debra) Draper of Martinsville, IL; mother of his children, Darlene Hope Roe (Robert) Shanks of Yale, IL; grandchildren; Katie, Madison, Kaylab, Garrett, Clarence and Parker and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tom was a 1964 graduate of Martinsville High School and attended college in Champaign, IL. He served his country in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cedar Park VFW and the Black Water Baptist Church. Tom was a retired dispatcher and recruiter for Bennett Motor Express in McDonough, GA. He had previously worked as a truck driver and commercial electrician. Tom enjoyed motorcycle riding, reading, canvas painting, shooting guns and an avid NASCAR race fan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with graveside military rites by the Casey VFW, Martinsville American Legion and Hazel Dell American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.

Memorial donations will be made to Casey VFW, 300 S. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420.
