Obituary for Shirley Jean (Clarke) Davidson

Shirley Jean (Clarke) Davidson, age 89, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:27 am on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center, Greenup, IL. She was born August 28, 1927 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Arthur E. Clarke and Flora Wegert Clarke. On October 9, 1948 she married Hubert Leon “Peck” Davidson in Detroit, MI. He passed away on February 20, 1998.

Survivors include son, Gail Davidson of Westfield, IL; daughters, Nancy (John) Meadows of Terre Haute, IN and Robin McClellan of Terre Haute, IN; daughter in law, Diana Davidson of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Jeremy Snader, Jason Snader, Bethany (Kyle) Kusterman, Katherine “Katie” (Jonathon) “Jon” Hanner, Natasha (Jared) Hupp, Evan (Courtney) Davidson, Colin Davidson and Alyana Davidson; great grandchildren, Raven Snader, Trinton Davis, Daryn Hupp, Weston Hupp, Bay Kusterman, Braxton Hanner and Kase Hanner. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Kenneth Clarke; sister, Margaret Martinelli; son, Carl Davidson and son in law, Marc McClellan.

Shirley was a graduate of Dembey High School in Detroit, MI. She worked for Ford Motor Company as a bookkeeper before moving to Casey, IL. She then worked for C.A. Williams Law office and Casey Shoe Factory. Shirley was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Casey. She was a lifetime member of the Casey VFW Women’s Auxillary. She enjoyed spending time with her children and their friends and her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 E. Colorado St., Casey, IL with Pastor Matthew Jukola officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
