Obituary for Betty Ann Warner

Betty Ann Warner, age 73, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 30, 1943 in Elliott, IL the daughter of Frank Dale Oakley and Lucille Nora Crouse Oakley. On September 10, 1960 she married Howard Allen Warner in Kickapoo, IL.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Howard Warner of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Pennie (Robert) Maxwell of Martinsville, IL; son, David (Angela) Warner of Martinsville, IL; siblings, Harold (Rosemary) Oakley of Greenup, IL; Evelyn (Dean) Claxon of West Frankfort, IL; Mary (Richard) Harford of Mattoon, IL; Norma (Harold) Marts of Charleston, IL; Donnie (Florence) Oakley of Charleston, IL; sisters in law, Iris Oakley of Indianapolis, IN; Linda (Bob) Davis of Westfield, IL; Ruth (Gary) Storment of Ashmore, IL; Charis (Patchett) Warner of Mt. Carmel, IL; Joyce Warner of Mattoon, IL; grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsay) Roberts of Casey, IL; Trenton (Jordan) Maxwell of Martinsville, IL; Aaron (Andrea) Warner of Martinsville, IL; Akasha (Darin) Ledbetter of Martinsville, IL and Carrie (Jeff) Cross of Martinsville, IL and great grandchildren, Jayla Roberts, Jayden Roberts, Jackson Maxwell, Layne Roberts, Gage Green, Haddie Maxwell, Lynlee Roberts and Reid Warner and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerald (Wilma) Oakley, Paul (Carolyn) Oakley, Glenn Oakley; twin sisters, Jean (Max) Mills and Jane Oakley and in-laws, Clarence (Vera Earhart) Warner.

Betty’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and sharing her love for God. She was a 50-year member of the Willis Chapel Church of God. Betty spent many years teaching Sunday school and loved the role of song leader in the church. Betty was always ready to play cards. Her house was never unclean and that never went unnoticed. She spent many years cleaning house for others and enjoyed every minute of it. Betty loved the outdoors, she enjoyed mowing and took great pride in her yard, garden and flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Casey First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dan Ledley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lindsey Cemetery, north of Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Casey First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 US Highway 40, Casey, IL.
