Anna “Wanda” Bennett Bosler, age 98, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:52 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. Wanda was born April 12, 1918 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Bruce Daughhetee and Lucinda Hammond Daughhetee. She married Harlin T. Bennett; he passed away on January 11, 1962. She later married Wilbur “Web” Ray Bosler on June 15, 1969. He passed away on May 30, 2001.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry (John) Repp of Palestine, IL and Brenda Ludwig of Oakwood, IL; stepson, Wayne Bosler of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Brent (Meehan) Repp of Royal Oak, MI, Johnny (Gina) Repp of Naperville, IL, Darin (Katie) Repp of Chicago, IL and Amy (Patrick) Rouse of Champaign, IL; step grandson, Travis Bosler of Charleston, IL; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Matteo Repp, Bennett and Jameson Sprague, George and Thomas Rouse and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Dwane, Bruce and Wendell Daughhetee; sisters, Mildred Umbarger and Patsy Parker; son-in-law, Gary Ludwig and granddaughter, Lee Ann Ludwig Sprague.
Wanda was a 1936 graduate of Casey High School. She was a stay-at-home mom until the unexpected death of her husband Harlin in 1962. Wanda began working for her brother, Wendell at the Corner Hardware Store in Martinsville, IL. She later worked for the Clark County ASCS office in Martinsville, IL until her retirement. She was a member of the Martinsville Bible Church where she did missionary sewing. Wanda and her sister Patsy collected and counted the Sunday school offerings for the church as well. She was a talented seamstress who could look at a dress she liked in a store and go home and make a pattern to duplicate the dress.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
