Obituary for Faye Earlene Simonton

Faye Earlene  Simonton
Faye Earlene Simonton, age 88, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at The Villas of Hollybrook in Marshall, IL. She was born June 20, 1928 in Clark County, IL the daughter of Charles Earl Callahan and Alma Rothrock Callahan. On January 9, 1949 she married Orville Willis “Bud” Simonton in Casey, IL. He passed away on July 30, 2012.

Survivors include her three sons, Gary Simonton and wife Nancy (Burnett) of Casey, IL, Dennis Simonton and friend Diane Woolverton of Marshall, IL and Ron Simonton and wife Gail (Cox) of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Nicole “Nici” Leigh Evers and husband Todd and daughter Grace Adeline; John Taylor “J.T.” Simonton and wife Janine and children, Landon Taylor and Lydia Maurine; Alan James “A.J.” Simonton and wife Valerie; Jordan Lucas Simonton and friend Mallory Ann Cook; Patrick Benjamin Simonton; and Leslee Ann Harris and husband Brandon and children, Paul Thomas Maynard, Charles Victor Harris and Kimberly Ann Harris and her sister, Freda Ulrey of Altamont, IL. She was in preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Linda Rogene Simonton; and husband, Orville “Bud” Simonton.

Bud and Faye were lifelong farmers in the Casey and Martinsville area from 1950 to 2012. Faye spent many years hauling the three boys around in grain trucks while working on the farm. She and Bud owned and operated the Simonton Hardware Store in Westfield, IL from 1973-1977. Faye worked at TRW and Ettelbrick Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God, Order of the Eastern Star and Clark County Historical Society. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her boys and especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Jon McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
