Len graduated from Hutsonville High School and had a short stint in college before heading to the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Nagoya, Japan with the Air Force. Len moved to Casey in 1967 with Libby and their children. Len joined State Farm while working at the lumberyard and went on to be a State Farm Insurance Agency Owner in Casey for 37 years; prior to that he was a Metropolitan Life agent for 9 years. Len was a life member of the Casey VFW and American Legion as well as a member of the Casey United Methodist Church for many years. He lived the Christian life example witnessed by his children and all who he touched and hoped that they live, carry, and share with their families as well. Len coached Girls Softball and one team made it to Nationals in Colorado. He also coached little league football of which many young people under his leadership enjoyed successful lives and others that earned Casey a State HS Football Championship. Len was an avid and outstanding golfer as well as a competitive horse racing enthusiast. His admirable leadership drove the shy and timid to above average and beyond. He created confidence in young people where there was once low self-esteem and little hope. He never ever gave up hope on anyone. He created Teams that were real with sacrificial players. This is the same way he lived his life pursuing excellence in himself and his children. He took care of his business life by truly serving people while building the community of Casey.
