Charles E.  "Chuck "  Brasier
Chuck “Sonny” E. Brasier, age 88, of Casey, IL passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home in rural Casey, IL. He was born on November 10, 1927 in Coal City, IL; the son of Nathaniel Guy Brasier and Margaret Ellen Miller Brasier. He was raised by his sister, Lavena and her husband Guy Learned from the age of five. On November 7, 1976 he married Patricia Ann Hilmes in Champaign, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Brasier of Casey, IL; sons, Patrick Brasier and wife Kimberly of Casey, IL and Richard Brasier of Anna, IL; daughters, Vonnie Sarver and husband John of Urbana, IL, Katrina McGrath of Louisville, KY, Tina Peterson of Phoenix, AZ and Sierra Brasier of Florida; sister, Bernadine (John) Wally of West Frankfort, IL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cameron Alan Brasier in 2014; sisters, Lavena Learned and Opal Zimbelman and granddaughter, Patty Peterson.

Chuck was US Navy veteran, serving his country during WWII. He was a retired security guard for Kraft Foods in Champaign, IL. Chuck was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting knives with a patriotic theme. Chuck and Pat devoted their love and their lives to providing a stable home and environment for foster children.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Greenup Cemetery, IL Rte. 121, Greenup, IL with Rev. Larry Howard officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Greenup American Legion Post #566 and the Greenup VFW Post #4598.
