Obituary for Gary Dean Anderson

Gary Dean Anderson, age 70, of Casey, IL passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL.

He was born March 20, 1946 in Paris, IL, the son of Ernie A. Anderson and Inez Merle Gilbert Anderson. On September 25, 1964 he married Linda Lee Davis in Westfield, IL.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Linda Anderson of Casey, IL; daughters, Rita (Rusty) Johnson of Martinsville, IL; Tracey (Jim) Blair of Casey, IL; Sheila (Tim) Wood of Neoga, IL; son, Doug Anderson of Casey, IL; brother, Carl (Mary Jane) Anderson of Sebastian, FL; sisters, Marcella (Charles) Finney of Casey, IL and Sharon (Joseph) Said of Gafney, SC; grandchildren, Ryan Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Kellie Skinner, Jennifer Quinlan, Jimmy Wood and Haley Anderson and great granddaughter, Lilly Skinner. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tim Anderson and daughter in law, Holly Anderson.

Gary was retired after working 30 years for the City of Casey utility department; prior to that he worked for Goble Gas and Appliance. He was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God where he served as a Deacon and Trustee and sang in the choir. Gary loved southern gospel music and enjoyed traveling to concerts. If you ever saw Gary driving around in his red jeep you could tell he was an avid “Cubs” fan by his spare wheel cover.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Casey White Oak Church of God with Rev. Jeff Lakins and Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Casey White Oak Church of God, 3305 E. 1000th Rd., Casey, IL. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL at a later date.
