Condolence: Bob's passing was a real surprise, he looked great two years ago at his class reunion. We played basketball together for two years at Roxana HS. A real team player and teammate. Reading about the great life he led and the number of people he helped did not surprise. Condolences to family and friends we have lost a really good one.

Condolence From: "Bertie" Turner Whelan
Condolence: Sharon, with loving thoughts of you and Bob; Bob helped my daughter Leigh on her first day of school as she had crossed the railroad tracks by Roosevelt School and crashed. I was following Leigh in our car just to be sure she made it OK. Meanwhile Bob had stopped to help her - when I pulled up Bob didn't realize I was Leigh's Mom and he asked Leigh if she would like him to put her bike in his car and take her to school. I just backed off as she wasn't crying and not insured. I'll never forget this love Bob showed to a student he didn't even know. Bertie

Condolence From: Mike Hearn
Condolence: Very sad to hear of the passing of Coach Durham. I played basketball for him from 1969-1970. I put him on a pedestal where he stood his entire life. He had a great influence on me. I admired and respected him. He was a great leader and motivator. My senior year he had moved from Oakland to Casey and we played against them at Oakland. Every time he did his famous "coaching whistle" I would look over thinking he wanted my attention! Nothing but fond memories and deep condolences to Sharon and the family. He was a great man and I will miss him.
