Carmen Maria (Guintoli) Gruning, age 59, of Casey, IL passed away at 4:56 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at her home. She was born May 18, 1956 in Munich, Germany, the daughter of Alfred Johann Seidl and Maria Louise Riedl Seidl. On November 21, 1990 she married Charles Ray Gruning in Casey, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Gruning of Casey, IL; son, Shawn Gruning and Kaitlynn of Chicago, IL; sisters, Angie Demartino of Liberty Center, IN and Brenda Doster of Dallas, TX and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Frieda Kroher and great aunts, Rosa Riedl and Emma Bauer.
Carmen worked as a machinist at Fedders in Effingham, IL for over 17 years. She was a 1974 graduate of Charleston High School. Carmen loved animals of all kinds, reading, roller coasters, festivals and flea markets.
Celebration of Life services will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Cumberland County Sportsman’s Club, 1884 Co Rd 850 N, Greenup, IL 62428. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
