Loretta Mae  Gallatin
Loretta Mae Gallatin, 87, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 3:02 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born on February 7, 1929 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Fred Harold Gilbert and Trillia Marie Stults Gilbert. On September 24, 1966, she married Grant Gallatin. He passed away on August 30, 1970.

Survivors include her son, Mike Rardin and wife Karen of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Kathy Plummer and husband Mike of Fieldon, IL; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Patrick C. Rardin; daughter, Ann Rardin Nash; brother, Charles A. Gilbert and sister, Lorene Yow.

Loretta was a retired beautician in the Martinsville, IL area. She had also worked in at-home nursing care and as a clerk at local truck stops. She attended the Willow Creek Church and was a member of the Ever Ready Club. Loretta was an excellent seamstress and was known as a “stitch-witch.”

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Martinsville Bible Church with
Rev. David Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10 a.m. prior to the service at the Martinsville Bible Church, 509 E. Ridgelawn Rd., Martinsville, IL. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL at later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Nursing Center, PO Box 10, Casey, IL 62420.
