Robert (Bob) Ross   Rue
Robert (Bob) Ross Rue, 76, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 1:45 am EST on 17th, January, 2016 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Mr. Rue was born on November 16th, 1939 in Martinsville, Illinois. The son of Alonzo Rue and Alice Ripple Rue, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Marsha Shafer on June 8th, 1957, and she survives.

Bob started his career as a plasterer and member of the Plasterers’ and Cement Masons Union Local 143. He was a field superintendent in the Peoria, Illinois area for most of his career working for Allied Construction and Interior Construction Services. Later in his career, he traveled extensively throughout the United States working for Senergy. He recently received his 60 year Gold Card as a member of the Plasterers’ and Cement Masons Union Local 143.

Bob was a member of the Casey First Christian Church; a member of the Casey’s Lions Club; a member of the Casey-Westfield Alumni Association and Casey Historical Society. Bob enjoyed helping others and was a co-coordinator of Miracle Day through the First Christian Church. After attending a regional meeting, he, along with several others, was instrumental in bringing Miracle Day to Casey.

Mr. Rue is survived by his wife; by his daughter, Cindy Wimbley of Casey; by his son, Roger (Joanne) Rue of Winter Springs, Florida; by his daughter, Lori Romanelli of Casey and a son Randy Rue of Casey; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Dinah) Wimbley, Jennifer Wimbley, Sean (Christy) Goudreau and Kristen Romanelli; 5 great grandchildren, Dustin Weger; Rachel Weger; Carson Goudreau; Leah Goudreau and Parker Wood; 10 surviving siblings; Mary Sue Watson; Ronald (Sharon) Rue; Bonnie (Don) Baird; John (Nancy) Rue; Ben Rue; Richard (Kathy) Rue; Jack Rue; Andy Rue; Julie (Chuck) Briggs; Melanie (David) Evans; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney Rue and Tony Rue.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20th, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:30PM at Casey First Christian Church with Reverend Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.
