Obituary for Alvan Lee Fraker

Alvan Lee Fraker, 84, of Marshall, IL passed away at 9:34 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born on October 13, 1931 in Martinsville, IL, the son of Harry Fraker and Ethel Beabout Fraker. On December 8, 1973, he married Shirley Blanche Dornbergh in Las Vegas, NV.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shirley Fraker of Marshall, IL; son, Larry (Lynn) Hawkins of Mohave Valley, AZ; daughter, Diane Shannon of Marshall, IL; grandson, Mike Hawkins and granddaughter, Kelli Van Pinxteren. He was preceded by his parents, brother, Harry Eugene Fraker and sister, Louise Crumrin.
Alvan served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion in Yucca Valley, CA. Alvan worked in maintenance at McDowell-Craig while living in California. After moving back to the area, he went to work in the hardware department at Wal-Mart in Terre Haute, IN.
Per his request cremation rites will be accorded.
