Dorothy Mae Brewer  Ring
Dorothy Mae (Brewer) Ring, 84, of Casey, IL passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL. She was born on September 4, 1931 in Jewett, IL, the daughter of Jonas Guy Brewer and Hildreth Lee Orr Brewer. On December 26, 1950, she married Jackie Dean “Jack” Ring in Robinson, IL. He passed away on December 10, 2006.
Survivors include her sons, Steven Ring and wife Betty of Effingham, IL and Dennis Ring and wife Marsha of Casey, IL; daughter in law, Lori Ring of Martinsville, IL; sisters, Joella Meidel of Springfield, IL and Jeannie Breiner and husband Don of Springfield, IL; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband, son, Clay Ring, brothers, Johnny, Dick, Don, Wayne and Floyd Brewer, and sisters, Betty Brandenburg and Alice Middleton.
Dorothy was a member of the White Oak Church of God, where she sang in the choir and served on the Social Concerns Committee. She worked at the Casey Library for 8 years and the Fashion Lane in Casey for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Tom Toner officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 on Thursday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
