Ruth Annadean (McSchooler) Ryan, 86, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:40 am on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at her home in Casey, IL.

She was born on April 17, 1929 in Clay County, IL, the daughter of Roy Wesley McSchooler and Nannie Alice List McSchooler. On March 23, 1952, she married John Harrison Ryan in Cumberland County, IL. He passed away on March 1, 2000.

Survivors include her children, Kathryn S. Hayes and husband Mike of Casey, IL and John Timothy Ryan and wife Debbie of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Jessica Beaumont and husband Craig of Toledo, IL; Ryan Newlin and wife Shari of Westfield, IL; Jon Hayes and fiancé Tayelar Grafton of Casey, IL; Taysha Johnson and husband Adam of Charleston, IL and Trey Ryan and wife Kim of Charleston, IL; great grandchildren, Michael and Natalie Beaumont; John, Tyler, Gage, Ashton, Taylor, Danielle and Bentley Newlin; Jackson Hayes and Brynlee Johnson; brothers, Lester (Gloria) McSchooler of Carrollton, IL and David (Norma) McSchooler of Mattoon, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brothers, Don, Lowell, Howard, John McSchooler and sisters, Wanda Bruner, Leona Hodge and Irene Gilbert.

Ruth was a 1947 graduate of Casey High School and a softball pitcher in her youth. She was a member of the Casey First Christian Church. She was a retired legal secretary for Williams & Resch, Attorneys and Edward M. Resch, Attorney at Law for over 33 years. She and her husband John were owners of Ryan Oil Company for their entire lives. Ruth’s favorite past time was Bingo, which she enjoyed playing several times a week. She was an active and dedicated participant in John’s Masonic endeavors including his highest achievement of a 33rd degree Mason. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Casey First Christian Church, Casey, IL with Rev. Jan Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE 8th St., Casey, IL. Graveside committal will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.
