Archibald “Arch” Ciris Feltner, 98, of Greenup IL passed away at 4:04 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL. He was born February 25, 1916 the son of Hod Feltner and Lois L. Westall Feltner in Cumberland County, IL. On June 10, 1939 he married Helen Gladys Wirth; she passed away in 1987.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Selden and husband Tom of Palmetto, FL; son, Jerry A. Feltner of Greenup, IL; and grandchildren, Cameron and Martin Feltner. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Mr. Feltner was a 50 year member of the Operating Engineers Union. In his younger years he worked in farming and in a welding shop. Arch built and flew ultralight planes and airboats. He was a lifelong resident of Cumberland County, IL. Arch and his wife enjoyed travelling in their motor home. They would pull their airboat to Florida a couple times a year and spent time fishing while they were there.
Memorial services will be held at 6 pm on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center Activity Fund, 300 N. Marietta St., Greenup, IL 62428.
