Obituary for Howard William Terrell

Howard William   Terrell
Howard William Terrell, 67, of Casey, IL formerly of Hanover, Maryland passed away at 9:49 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born August 28, 1946 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Albert William Terrell and Zola Earlene Wright Terrell. On May 17, 1969 he married Gloria Jean Martinez in Orlando, FL.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Gloria Terrell of Casey, IL; son, Carlton William Terrell of Casey, IL; son, Christopher Martin Terrell and wife Stacy of Ferndale, MD; brother, Thomas Terrell of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Sharon Jeanette Terrell of Palm Bay, FL and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Terrell served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology from the University of Maryland University College. Howard was retired from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing where he worked for the US Treasury in Inventory Management. He was an avid memorabilia collector and especially enjoyed researching genealogy. Howard was a member of the Casey VFW Post #5762, Casey, IL; the former Beltsville VFW, Beltsville, MD; the Laurel Wreath Masonic Lodge #149, Laurel, MD; the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #75; the Boumi Shrine Temple, Baltimore, MD and the Almas Shrine Temple, Washington, DC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Casey with Pastor Jan Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL with graveside military rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the First Christian Church of Casey, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Laurel, MD with Masonic Rites accorded.
Memorials donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
