Robert “Bob” Eugene Nicholson, 70, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1943 in Clarksville, IL, the son of Vern Nicholson and Fay Redella Johnson Nicholson Thompson.

Survivors include his sons, Roger Neil Nicholson of Houston, TX and Rodney Bryan Nicholson of Houston, TX; brothers, Jerry Nicholson of Tucson, AZ and Leon Nicholson and wife Diane of Marshall, IL; sister, Crystal Kannmacher and husband Jon of Sandwich, IL and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Martinsville High School. He enjoyed watching the Martinsville Bluestreaks sporting activities throughout his life. Bob attended the Bible Church in Martinsville, IL. He had previously worked for Velsicol in Marshall, IL and Caterpillar in Aurora, IL before beginning a lifetime career with Marathon Pipeline. He retired as a foreman from Marathon Pipeline in Pasadena, TX.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service on Friday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
