Madolyn Elizabeth (Bennett)  Kannmacher
Madolyn Elizabeth (Bennett) Kannmacher, 95, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 9:13 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born June 18, 1918 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Ernie Olin Bennett and Jesse Marie Husted Bennett. On March 6, 1942, she married Deon English Kannmacher in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on July 13, 1996.

Survivors include her sons, Gale Kannmacher and wife Barbara of Martinsville, IL and Gene Kannmacher and wife Cindy of Martinsville, IL; brother, Carroll Bennett and wife Ruth of Marshall, IL; sisters in law, Wanda Bosler of Martinsville, IL and Joan Bennett of Martinsville, IL; brother in law, James Secrest of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Mark (Sherri) Kannmacher of Martinsville, IL; Sarah (Jay) Wilhoit of Martinsville, IL; Jason (Michelle) Kannmacher of Holiday Shores, IL and Chris Kannmacher of Martinsville, IL; great grandchildren, Caitlin, Liz, Lyla, Molly, Hunter and Natalie Kannmacher; Madolyn and Lane Wilhoit and many other family members and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Harlan, Harold and Lowell Bennett.

Mrs. Kannmacher was a member and secretary for many years of the Island Grove Baptist Church, Martinsville, IL. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm for many years. Madolyn and Deon were very active in the “Silver Streaks.” She enjoyed playing the piano; was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making candy. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a Martinsville Blue Streaks fan. She enjoyed all the activities her grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey and Brother Keith Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Martinsville Agricultural Fair Association, P.O. Box 515, Martinsville, IL 62442.
