Edwin Clair Zachary, 81, Martinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009. He was born September 10, 1928 to Martin Ad and Minola Hamilton Zachary. He married Mary Ann Scott on July 20, 1946, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Michael (Patricia Lowry) Zachary, Martinsville, Steve (Anita Rister) Zachary, Lawrenceville, Scott (Mary Katherine Smitley) Zachary, Martinsville, nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, one brother, Verlin (Sharon) Zachary, Marshall, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Virgil, William, Clark, Earl, James, and Grant, and three sisters, Clara Zorman, Mabel Craig, and Grace Treon.

He was retired from Velsicol, and Pap-R-Products and had been employed at Wheatland Glass of Terre Haute. He was a member of Island Grove Baptist Church of rural Martinsville and Martinsville Masonic Lodge 603.

Services will be at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, IL. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009 and prior to the services which will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Billie Ray Ulrey will be the presiding minister. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL.
