Bobby Gene Veach, 78, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 4:14 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born April 15, 1933 in Martinsville, IL, the son of Ira Farrington Veach and Cora Madge Kemper Veach.


Survivors include children, Steve Veach and wife Judy of Martinsville, IL; Robin Misner and husband Jerald of Martinsville, IL; John Veach and wife Debbie of Rockville, IN; Julie Veach of Martinsville, IL and Leann Shackelford and husband Michael of Casey, IL; sister, Helen Sanders and husband Dennis of Martinsville, IL; sister in law, Barbara Veach of Martinsville, IL; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest Veach and sister, Wanda Galeener.


Bob was retired from the City of Casey after twenty years. He had also previously worked in construction. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martinsville, IL and a former member of the Shriners.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Brother Justin Sweitzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluegrass Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
