Obituary for Rondall L. Ulrey

Rondall L. “Ronnie” Ulrey, 77, of rural Martinsville, IL passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Heartland Manor, Casey, IL. He was born January 14, 1934 in Clark County, IL, the son of Otto Kenneth Ulrey and Bernice Chapman Ulrey. On June 24, 1961 he married Betty Lou Smith in Robinson, IL.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Betty Ulrey of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Ronda Ulrey of Robinson, IL; sons, Mike Ulrey of Oblong, IL; son, Troy (Amie) Ulrey of Oblong, IL; sister, Loretta (Allen) Boyd of Casey, IL; brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Ulrey of Springfield, MO; sister in law, Lois Ulrey of Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Laci (Josh) Michels, Corey Ulrey, Brandon Ulrey, Lindsey Ulrey, Chelsey Ulrey, Casey Ulrey; step grandchildren, Tyler Lopes and Caitlyn Lopes; three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Allen & Joan Smith, Josephine Attaway, Rosemary Smith, Lavon Smith, all of Robinson, IL; Barbara Sharp of Effingham, IL; Shirley Warren of Casey, IL; Margie Denton of Anderson, IN; special friend & caregiver, Tracey Mauer of Robinson, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and the caring staff of Heartland Manor Nursing Center. He was preceded by his parents, brother, Kenny Gene Ulrey and nephew, Jeffrey Ulrey.

Ronnie was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Martinsville American Legion and the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Briggs Manufacturing in Robinson, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Creek (Butternut) Cemetery, south of Martinsville, IL with Graveside Military Rites by the Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
