Dean Paul Urick, 69, of Charleston, IL passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at his home in Charleston, IL. He was born December 19, 1941, in Decatur, IL, the son of Paul L. Urick and Mary Maxine Polk Urick.


Survivors include his mother, Maxine Urick of Westfield, IL; son, Darin (Pamela) Urick of Las Cruces, NM; daughter, Jennifer Clayburn of Ashmore, IL; brothers, George (Beverly) Urick of Beltsville, MD and John (Linda) Urick of Sioux City, IA; sisters, Mary Ann (Jim) Linton of Casey, IL and Susie (Ronnie) Haworth of Casey, IL and five grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan, Madison, Darylann and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his father.


Dean was a retired electrical contractor and owner of Art’s Electric Company, Charleston, IL for 27 years. He was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church, Westfield, IL. Dean was a 32 degree Mason and a 47 year member of the Westfield Masonic Lodge #1046; a member of the Corn Belt Shrine Club, Charleston, IL; the Danville Consistory of the Scottish Rites, Danville, IL; the Ansar Shrine Club, Springfield, IL; the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Charleston Elks Club #623, Charleston, IL.


A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Westfield United Methodist Church, Westfield, IL with the Rev. Walter Miller officiating. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
