Obituary for Mary Maxine Urick

Mary Maxine Urick, 97, of Westfield, IL passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Heartland Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born July 30, 1914 in Westfield, IL, the daughter of George Augustus Polk and Golden Ina Nichols Polk. On August 28, 1937, she married Paul L. Urick in Westfield, IL. He passed away on January 17, 1994.


Survivors include sons, George (Beverly) Urick of Beltsville, MD and John (Linda) Urick of Sioux City, IA; daughters, Mary Ann (Jim) Linton of Casey, IL and Susie (Ronnie) Haworth of Casey, IL; sister, Dorothy Jean (Tom) Connelly of Mentor, OH; twenty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband; brother, James William Polk; sisters, Helen Jo Polk, Bonnie Laureta Daugherty and son, Dean Paul Urick.


Mrs. Urick was a beautician in Decatur, IL and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Club. She was a former Sunday school teacher, Choir Member, Communion Steward, Worship Chairman and Circle Chairman for UMC.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Westfield United Methodist Church, Westfield, IL with Rev. Walter Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Westfield United Methodist Church.
