June Margaret Koskinen Keranen, 96, of Casey, IL formerly of Hibbing, MN passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was the oldest of eight children born November 24, 1915 in Virginia, MN to John William “J.W.” and Ida Sophia Mattson Koskinen. On April 2, 1941 she married Evert William Keranen in Hibbing, MN. He passed away on October 10, 2000.

Survivors include daughter, Marcia Vidoni and husband Gene of Casey, IL; granddaughter, Michelle Squires and husband Bill of Valparaiso, IN; grandson, Chad Vidoni and wife Kim of Fishers, IN; great grandson, Casey Vidoni; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Vidoni; brothers, David Koskinen and wife Agnes of Oldsmar, FL and Peter Koskinen of Hibbing, MN; sister, Rosemary Hartung of Rochester, MI; sisters in law, Phyllis Koskinen of Bellevue, WA and Luanne Koskinen of Coon Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William Koskinen; twin brothers, George and Lauri Koskinen and sister, Susan Abernathy.

June’s family would like to acknowledge the entire staff of Heartland Nursing Center in Casey, IL for their exceptional love and care they gave all of us over the years.

At June’s request there will be no local service. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hibbing, MN.
